Casting FAQs & File Guidelines
What file should I upload?
The uploader accepts STL and OBJ files only. STL is preferred. Upload your file at the correct scale and check our file guidelines before ordering.
How long does casting take?
Turnaround depends on the alloy and any additional services. Palladium white gold and 18K royal yellow gold take approximately 3–4 business days. Contact us to confirm timing for a time-sensitive order.
Do I need an account to get a quote?
No account is needed to upload your file and view an online quote.
How is pricing calculated?
Online pricing uses your model’s volume, selected metal, quantity, and order options. Palladium white gold is quoted separately at an additional charge; 18K royal yellow gold is available by request.
Is your silver deoxidized?
Yes. All our silver casting uses deoxidized (de-ox) silver.
Do you offer palladium white gold?
Yes, by quote only at an additional charge. Turnaround is approximately 3–4 business days. Contact us with your desired karat and estimated gram weight for pricing.
Do you offer 18K royal yellow gold?
Yes, it’s available by request. Turnaround is approximately 3–4 business days. Contact us for pricing.
Before You Upload: Casting File Checklist
Check your CAD model before exporting your STL (preferred) or OBJ file:
- Center-stone prongs: minimum 0.9 mm diameter.
- Ring shank depth: minimum 1.5 mm.
- Thin walls: minimum 0.6 mm thickness.
- Confirm the model’s scale, dimensions, and ring size.
- Check the selected metal and print/cast quantities for each design.
We add the necessary supports to print your model. You do not need to add printing supports before uploading. Files below these minimums may require correction before production; printing supports do not compensate for insufficient thickness.
What happens if my file needs corrections?
Files below our minimum dimensions may need to be revised before production. Please correct the CAD model and send an updated file. If you need Apex to make the corrections, contact us for a separate repair quote.
